Port Perry, Ontario (December 2015) – Adamson Systems Engineering is now shipping the S10i line array, a loudspeaker specifically designed for installation applications. The news was announced by James Oliver, director of marketing and sales for the company.
“We already have the S10i installed in a number of venues worldwide,” Oliver explains. “The installation version of our popular S10 line array offers the same features and benefits of the S10 but is equipped with rigging designed to minimize costs for the integrator and to simplify installation.”
The most notable applications include the Sony Centre in Toronto, Canada; Claude Debussy Theatre in Cannes, France; Olavshallen concert hall in Trondheim, Norway and Chao Club in Nanjing, China.
Henrik Torgersen, stage manager at Olavshallen reports: “After extensive testing with major brands the S10 ended up being the best sounding rig. And the feedback from the audience is the best we have had for several years.”
Real Music, Adamson’s distributor in China, has also experienced tremendous success with installing S10 line arrays in a number of Chinese night clubs, most notably Chao Club. Real Music’s Richie Wang explains, “The premium club segment in China is very demanding. The S10 with its incredible output paired with zero distortion is a perfect fit making it easy to satisfy our clients”.
The S10i is a 2-way, full range line source cabinet containing 2x ND10-LM Kevlar Neodymium drivers (2x 16 Ω) and an NH4TA2 1.5” exit compression driver (8 Ω). The critically optimized sound chamber produces a slightly curved wavefront with a nominal dispersion pattern of 110° x 10° (H x V). The chamber’s efficiency allows for increased vertical dispersion without sacrificing high frequency presence in the far field. Patent-pending Controlled Summation Technology further eliminates low-mid lobing normally associated with 2-way line source systems.
The companion S119i subwoofer is loaded with a light weight, long excursion, 19” ND19-S Kevlar Neodymium driver utilizing Adamson’s Advanced Cone Architecture and a 5” voice coil for exceptional power handling. It is mounted in an ultra-efficient front-loaded enclosure. The full range capability (60 Hz) qualifies the S10i for applications where a sub is not required. Increased vertical coverage (10°) enables the S10i to cover theaters, arenas and stadiums with reasonable speaker quantity.
“The S10i allows Adamson to offer a very competitive product to system integrators,” concludes Oliver. “Its size and output, as well as the companion subwoofer, make it a viable solution for many installed sound applications.”
