Alcons Audio staying home for ISE 2014

Dutch audio innovator Alcons Audio will be showcasing its latest pro-ribbon sound system innovations at the upcoming Integrated Systems Europe show in Amsterdam.

The relatively wide scope of the show enables Alcons Audio to display its broad portfolio of system solutions: On booth 6-N148, Alcons presents a selected choice of its point-source, point-source array, line-source and line-array sound systems, based around the company’s patented Pro-Ribbon technology and its ongoing pursuit of audio perfection.

The main focus will be on the RR12 point-source array: with shipping started last December, the RR12 extends Alcons’ famous line-source technology into different applications. By implementing the unique features of Alcons’ pro-ribbon transducers in a modular concept, the RR12 has been developed as “building block” to create tight-packed (horizontal or vertical) arrays for controlled sound coverage in the widest variety of audience areas.

Another highlight on the stand will be the new CRMS series; the Cinema Reference Monitor Systems offer a 1:1 natural crystal-clear response, with unprecedented low-distortion and very wide 1:17 dynamic range. Focused on post-production studios, screening-rooms, residential home-cinemas and basically any critical reference listening environment, CRMS consists now of CRMSmkII and the CRMScompact, including pro-ribbon main loudspeakers, timbre-matching pro-ribbon surround loudspeakers, ultra-shallow subwoofers and dedicated processing and amplification.

Taking stage in their final production guise are the Sentinel amplified loudspeaker controllers; the drive engines behind the Alcons pro-ribbon sound systems. The proprietary-developed amplified processors offer 4-in/4-out, 192kHz AES/EBU digital inputs, Linux-based operation, full-color touch-screen and encoder control and up to 10kW. true audiophile-grade amp.stages. These high-resolution drive engines significantly raise the bar in very high-output, high-end HiFi sound reproduction.

Also on the stand will be the QR24 pro-ribbon line-source column: The modular, two-way column-array loudspeaker to be used as in acoustically-challenging rooms. The compact QR24 delivers a full-range high SPL HiFi sound quality, with unparalleled speech intelligibility in even the most reverberant rooms, without the necessity of DSP-based beamsteering.

Last but surely not least, a preview will be given on the new BF362 double 18” subwoofer system, featuring Alcons’ X-Vent™ technology for maximum breathing and output capacity.

While in Amsterdam, the ISE visitor can enjoy the Alcons sound in different locations, from the Pathé Tuschinski cinema, the EYE Film institute, Hilfiger’s Peoples Place, Little Buddha Bar, a.o.

The Alcons booth 6-N148 is located in Hall 6, which is connecting Hall 1 and Hall 7.

Besides being on the show floor with a stand, Alcons Audio is also sound system supplier for the ISE Residential Theatre in Hall 7 (7-W180).
