Attero Design is now shipping Audinate’s Dante DBAM Brooklyn II Module

Fort Wayne, IN and Portland, OR, August 22, 2013 – Attero Design, the design services arm of Attero Tech, is now shipping the Dante™ Brooklyn Adapter Module (DBAM). The new DBAM allows OEM users of both legacy Dante modules as well as legacy CobraNet® modules (CM-1 or CM-2) to immediately upgrade these products to the latest Audinate Brooklyn II Dante technology.

Dante is built on IT standards, and is a complete media networking solution. Dante delivers low-latency, tightly synchronized, sample-accurate playback, while simplifying installation and configuration of AV networks. Dante is a proven and scalable system widely deployed in thousands of installations today, ranging from hotels, transportation centers, hotels, shopping centers, public address systems, live sound reinforcement, theatres, concert halls, stadiums and athletic venues to corporate boardrooms, universities, broadcast facilities, recording facilities, Houses of Worship, government facilities and courtrooms.

The DBAM is designed in the exact electrical and mechanical form factor of the Cirrus Logic CM-1 and CM-2, and provides both primary and secondary Gigabit Ethernet connections to provide full audio network redundancy with glitch free failover. Electrical support for the legacy Host Management Interface (HMI) port allows control of the DBAM with only software changes on legacy HMI-based platforms. The standard DBAM supports 32×32 digital audio inputs and outputs, and can be optionally populated to support 64×64 as well. The price of the DBAM includes an Audinate Brooklyn II module, making the DBAM a complete Dante connectivity solution “off-the-shelf”.

Mike Sims, Director of Sales and Marketing, says, “The availability of the DBAM module will facilitate the upgrade of CobraNet and legacy Dante equipment to the latest Dante technology with minimum time and technical risk. This guarantees the fastest time to market, allowing OEMs to take advantage of Dante’s dominant position in networked audio solutions.” More information about the DBAM, including a product brief, data sheet and pricing is available by contacting Mike Sims at [email protected].

Lee Ellison, CEO of Audinate adds “The Dante Brooklyn Adaptor Module not only addresses the needs of customers who had been using the Dante Legacy Module, but opens up a ready-to-use solution for existing CobraNet CM-1 and CM-2 designs. This provides OEMs with a simple upgrade path to support Dante in their products.”
