(Fairview Heights, IL) The Baked Potato, Los Angeles’ legendary nightclub, has chosen Heil Sound microphones to use with all of its live performances. The club, though small (it seats 85), belies a huge presence, both sonically and artistically.

With music ranging from jazz to rock to contemporary fusion, The Baked Potato has a reputation of being a hidden spot for big-name artists to jam when they are in town. Attracting local musicians, music lovers and tourists alike to see world-class musicians in a very intimate setting, the club has been a music mecca for over forty years.

Don Randi, composer/musician and original member of the famous “Wrecking Crew,” opened The Baked Potato Jazz Club in 1970. His goal was to provide a place where his fellow musicians and he could play the music they loved after a long day working in recording sessions. In 1990, Don’s son, Justin Randi, took the reins, continuing its winning tradition of featuring the best of the best every night.

Justin commented, “We are pleased to be working with Heil Sound. Their microphones can be found with a wide range of artists, from rock to jazz and everything in between. The Heil Sound mics are a perfect complement to the vibe and sound of The Baked Potato.”

The Baked Potato has shows seven days a week with a wide variety of performers. A recent night found famed drummer Kenny Aronoff sharing the stage with fellow-drummer Stephen Perkins and a full band. Other rock luminaries – drummers seem to love the club – such as Chad Smith and Danny Carey are also regulars.
