1/24/2013 — Single-handedly redefining the category of high power, lightweight power amplifiers, BEHRINGER has introduced its most powerful iNUKE Series amps—the iNUKE12000 and iNUKE12000DSP, which deliver an astounding 12,000 total watts—6,000 Watts per channel at 2 Ohms, or 3,000 Watts at 4 Ohms, weigh less than 18 lbs./8 kg and occupy only 2 racks spaces each.

iNUKE amplifiers implement High-Density Class-D technology, which when combined with their ultra-efficient switch-mode power supply, deliver tremendous punch. They run cooler and don’t require massive heat sinks and heavy toroidal transformers typically found in traditional amplifiers.

The front panel controls and indicators provide users vital information at a glance. Both channels feature positive-detent Gain controls with Signal LEDs that light when a signal is present, as well as clip LEDs to indicate when the signal is distorted. “Zero-Attack” limiters offer maximum output level with reliable overload protection. There is also a built-in Subwoofer/Satellite crossover for even more flexibility. Input connectors on the iNUKE are XLR and ¼” TRS combination jacks for compatibility with any source. Professional twist lock speaker connectors are found on the back panel.

For sound engineers requiring high-level control capability, iNUKE DSP Series amplifiers come with built-in DSP and 24 bit/96 kHz converters to ensure the ultimate signal integrity with an extremely broad dynamic range. The DSP functions include a sophisticated delay, crossover, EQ (8 parametric, 2 dynamic), and dynamics processing with lockable security settings. All iNUKE DSP models can be set up, controlled and monitored via the front panel USB connector.

“iNUKE power amps have been wildly successful because they’re dependable, put out massive amounts of power, yet weigh so very little thanks to our revolutionary high-density Class-D technology” said Costa Lakoumentas, Senior VP of Marketing at the MUSIC Group. He continued, “But we think we may have outdone ourselves with the new iNUKE NU12000, which packs a whopping 12,000-Watt total output!”

It must use a different chip than the 6000 series, the 6000 is a pair of 3000 bridged and not rated to do 2 ohms. The 6000 is already limited by it’s power supply and also putting a hurt on the mains so I doubt they squeeze much more from the 12000.
