Collingwood, ON – October 2011… Although many of today’s larger houses of worship boast some pretty sophisticated audio systems, it’s surprising how many small and mid-sized churches still struggle with mediocre sound. As CHS Productions’ Roger Robinson points out, for many of them it’s not for lack of desire, but more often a case of not knowing where to turn.
“I’m amazed at the level of musicianship displayed by so many of these worship bands,” says Robinson. “They’re serious musicians and they want high fidelity. Often they’re a bit overwhelmed by the wealth of choices and sales hype, but don’t know where to turn for good advice on what will work for their particular space.”
Over the years, CHS Productions has been successfully installing systems for a client list that has grown to include many of the area’s largest churches and cathedrals, including St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church in Midland, First Presbyterian in Collingwood and St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church in Penetanguishene. Robinson, a 25 year audio visual industry veteran, says the key to their success lies in providing good, no-nonsense advice and the best products available.

For churches where more dynamic music is featured, CHS typically opts for Renkus-Heinz PNX Series loudspeakers.
“Renkus-Heinz products have become our preferred audio solution,” says Robinson. “We’ve been able to solve problems using Renkus-Heinz that we couldn’t solve with any other audio equipment.”
Although they specialize in houses of worship, in recent months CHS has also been busy providing live audio support for local music festivals. “We just did an outdoor festival where we flew three CFX101LA loudspeakers with a pair of CFX15S subwoofers on each side,” Robinson says. “The sound coverage and the clarity were outstanding.”
With several more church integrations and an upcoming music festival on the roster, Robinson says CHS plans to install Renkus-Heinz systems in every venue.
