San Diego, CA – NAMM Booth# 6698 (Hall A) … Equator Audio, recognized globally as a leading manufacturer of highly accurate studio reference monitors for mission critical recording applications, is pleased to announce the addition of an important recording studio accessory: the Francis Buckley / Equator (FB/E) Sound Abatement Panels. Developed in conjunction with Francis Buckley, Grammy Award winning Engineer/Producer and host of the internet TV show Studio Rescue, the new FB/E Sound Abatement Panels address the frequently encountered challenge of controlling sound reflections in the mix position.

Designed with the project studio in mind, the FB/E Sound Abatement Panels are manufactured from high density cotton material for maximum absorption. The panels are lightweight and cut to 1 foot by 2 foot size with a 2-inch depth. Unlike competing foam and fiberglass panels that are typically cut to 2 foot by 4 foot dimensions, the compact dimensions of the FB/E Sound Abatement Panels means that, in small control rooms such as those commonly found in home recording studios, there is greater flexibility for positioning the panels. Of particular note, as there is no fiberglass used in the manufacturing of these panels, there is no carcinogenic risk—making them a ‘green’ solution for sound control.

Francis Buckley, commented on the new FB/E Sound Abatement Panels, “Our new FB/E Sound Abatement Panels effectively absorb unwanted primary reflections that can interfere with the mix position. Acoustical treatment is a very important consideration for any critical listening space and yet there is relatively little focus on it—particularly for the home studio operator. In addition to their stellar absorption qualities, these smaller panels offer greater placement flexibility in small rooms such as home studios. They are a vital element for controlling unwanted reflections in the mix position and they are a ‘green’, environmentally friendly solution to boot.”

For acoustical treatment of one’s critical listening space, the FB/E Sound Abatement Panels offer first class sound absorption characteristics. With excellent NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) ratings 1.05 and SAA (Sound Absorption Average) ratings of 1.04, these panels exceed the most demanding absorption requirements.

The new 1’ x 2’ FB/E Sound Abatement Panels are available in black; priced 4 to a package at an MSRP of $149. The product is available now. For additional information visit www.equatoraudio.com.
