Toronto, Ontario, Canada — August 29, 2013 … Lawo (Booth C71 in Hall 8) will address audio and video broadcast, software solutions and workflow optimization issues at this year’s IBC by showcasing new innovative products and technologies, as well as proven devices. In a world premiere, the IBC audience in Amsterdam will witness the launch of Lawo’s RAVENNA-based commentator solution for use in world-class sports and cultural event broadcasts. It is tailored to the needs of today’s live broadcast productions and offers all modules for a comprehensive commentary system from a single source.

Also being presented to the public for the first time is a new member of the Lawo Video Line: the V__pro8 video processor, Lawo’s ‘Swiss Army Knife’ solution for broadcast video processing, is to be joined by a one-box-solution for video contribution over IP. This device includes everything from Video-over-IP coding to various testing and processing tools, and is designed to increases the flexibility of any broadcast application while saving rack-space, set-up time and production costs.

Radio workflow efficiency and quality are also under review: PC-based radio production using Lawo’s Radio Tools JADE and EDIT, are being presented on Booth 8.C71. As ‘mediator’ between audio hardware and software, JADE establishes connections of any kind between the required audio signals – no external routing of the signal nor switching of signals is necessary. Prepared setups (e.g. telephone interviews) can be recalled at the push of a button. The audio editor EDIT, meanwhile, is specifically geared to the needs of radio broadcast production.

In addition, Lawo will present a remote production showcase at the IBC outdoor area on OE102. The future of broadcast production will be demonstrated live with a combination of RAVENNA-based audio interfaces and Lawo’s new video-over-IP product integrated in an OB truck and an ENG vehicle.

Beside these products and solutions, Lawo will be showing several new features for the mc² console series including the new Automix. In addition, Lawo will demonstrate latest developments in 3D audio production.
