Allen & Heath Avantis V1.2 has been announced as a finalist for the 38th Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards in the category of Outstanding Technical Achievement in Console Technology. No stranger to TEC Award honors, Avantis previously was selected as a winner in the 36th Annual (2021) season in the Small Format Console category. Presented at The NAMM Show, The NAMM TEC Awards are bestowed annually in celebration of the pro audio community by recognizing the individuals, companies, and technical innovations behind today’s sound recordings, live performances, films, television, video games, and other media.
“Avantis has been on an astounding run since its launch and is showing no signs of slowing down,” notes Jeff Hawley, Allen & Heath USA director of marketing. “The team has done amazing work stepping up the tech in V1.2 with new features including a next-generation RTA engine, enhanced wireless integration and additions to the dPack bundle of DEEP processors. The new RTA engine and sonogram view, Source Expander, and Dual Threshold Expander have been especially popular with engineers across the board.”
The announcement follows a four-month call for entries of standout technical products and projects that have made a significant impact on modern sound and music. A panel of respected industry voters from pro audio publications, as well as members of professional music, technical and creative organizations, along with select NAMM members, carefully evaluated each entry before selecting the Allen & Heath Avantis V1.2 update as an Outstanding Technical Achievement finalist.
“NAMM is always such an important event for Allen & Heath,” adds Hawley. “We are excited to go big once again with a booth packed with engineers and A&H fans, experience Allen & Heath deployed ‘in the wild’ across the NAMM campus on stages and events of all sizes, and present interactive live sound console training and certification. The TEC Awards round out the week and are such a wonderful way to come together and hang as an industry.”
All finalists will be celebrated at The 2023 NAMM Show at the TEC Experience, a special, communal reception designed to gather the crossroads of the industry to applaud the achievements of the researchers and developers, product designers, marketers, and innovators behind the innovations. The event, which is open to all NAMM Show attendees and precedes the return of the TEC Awards in 2024, will be held on the campus of the Anaheim Convention Center on the evening of Thursday, April 13.
