Los Angeles, CA… Mojave Audio, a leading manufacturer of world-class microphones for the recording professional, is pleased to announce the winner of the second annual Mojave Audio Vocal Scholarship award at Musicians Institute (MI) for spring 2013. This year’s winner is Roxanne Wakoski.
Wakoski, who possesses outstanding pop vocal skills, discussed her reaction to the announcement of her scholarship award, “I am hoping that Musicians Institute will provide me with the resources and skills to perfect my voice in order to succeed in the music industry. I believe MI is a well-rounded contemporary music school that will help me to pave the way for a successful career as a pop solo recording artist with a unique soulful sound!”
The Mojave Audio Vocal Scholarship is available to students enrolled in the Vocal Performance program. Students wishing to be considered must complete a Mojave Audio Vocal Scholarship application (available on the Musicians Institute website). They must also submit a video recording (DVD format only) where the candidate performs three songs in any style. Ideally, this demonstration disc should include two live ensemble performances plus a solo (a cappella) performance.
Beth Marlis, Vice President at Musicians Institute, offered the following thoughts about Wakoski’s winning of the Mojave Audio Vocal Scholarship, “Everyone at MI congratulates Roxanne on winning this prestigious scholarship award, and we welcome her as she begins her studies in the Vocal Program and enjoys the many great experiences ahead at MI.”
Dusty Wakeman, Mojave Audio’s President, commented on Ms. Wakoski’s winning of the Mojave Audio Vocal Scholarship and the company’s sponsorship of the scholarship award. “Over the years, Mojave Audio has become a favorite microphone of recording engineers, vocal performers, and voiceover talent from all walks of life,” Wakeman says. “We are proud to be a sponsor of a scholarship program at Musicians Institute and are delighted to contribute to Ms. Wakoski’s training. All of us at Mojave Audio wish her the very best as she pursues her musical goals. The ability to help a talented vocalist gain the training necessary to further one’s craft is important, as it helps future generations of talented individuals have rewarding careers in the creative arts.”
