[ATTACH=JSON]208311.vB5-nodeid=208311[/ATTACH]ANAHEIM, California – January 2018 — Twelve months on from the launch of the innovative and powerful Delta Series of digital processing amplifiers, both XTA and MC[SUP]2[/SUP] are delighted to be unveiling their 120 Amps at this year’s NAMM Show on stand 18001 (Group One Ltd.) on the second floor of the Anaheim Convention Center’s new North Hall.
“We are looking at these amazing amplifiers from a new angle,” says Waring Hayes, technical brand manager for both companies. “Rather than consider this a launch of just another bigger amplifier for the Delta Series—and the recently introduced XTA DNA Series—what’s more important to realize is the significance of this stereo, Dante-enabled flagship design.
“The 120 Amps are the most powerful network audio, two-channel amplifiers available and are designed to drive more than just subwoofer arrays. There is absolutely no compromise in sound quality, despite the colossal energy on tap. With breakthroughs in the use of the very latest output devices and innovative drive circuitry, we have finally eliminated the need to compare against class AB designs.”
The 120 Amps will be available as the Delta 120 and DNA120 models from MC[SUP]2[/SUP] and XTA, respectively, and have 96kHz Dante inputs as an option. Both will deliver over 7000 watts per channel into two ohms and 5000 watts per channel into four ohms.
In addition to the new 120 Amps, NAMM 2018 will be the first North American showing of XTA’s DPA and DNA amplifier ranges. Designed to complement the company’s APA Series products, DPA amplifiers combine incredible audio power and performance with ultra-flexible connectivity for both remote control and audio. Exemplary audio processing is assured through the use of XTA’s DSP platform, and power amplifier capabilities are taken care of with high efficiency output stages and a generous power supply.
Accepting analog, AES3 digital and optional Dante networked audio, the DPA Series can connect to any source and make it available over the network, as well as processing four additional channels with local analog outputs to connect to DNA Series (or any traditional) amplifiers. Additionally, the auxiliary output channels are fed back onto the Dante network.
All input processing channels feature a suite of familiar XTA EQ—including all the esoteric filter types—as well as dynamic EQ, and all eight output processing channels can include FIR filter data, and will accept industry standard presets created for XTA’s other processors.
The “twist” for the DNA Series derivatives is the inclusion of Dante networking—all of these non-DSP amplifiers may include a two/four-channel 96kHz Dante input option, switchable back to regular two/four-channel analog if needed. A single network cable can then be used to connect the processed audio from a DPA amplifier to any number of DNA amplifiers to achieve the power levels required.
Connectivity for remote control is covered by Ethernet, USB and RS485, with relay of either USB or Ethernet control via RS485 to work with legacy products. Configuration amplifier processing is through the industry standard AudioCore application, with tuning and monitoring of a network of DPA (and MC[SUP]2[/SUP] Delta DSP) amplifiers handled wirelessly by the dedicated DeltaDirect iPad app available free.
The biggest update to AudioCore for several years—the “Amped Edition,” which monitors and controls DPA, Delta DSP and now also APA amplifier series—will be connected to various systems, along with wireless control via DeltaDirect, the iPad app.
AudioCore: Amped Edition features many enhancements to streamline workflow and improve connectivity, including new native IP comms support and grouping across multiple channels with both relative and absolute control.
