BUENA PARK, Calif. (October 2, 2017)—Celebrating 30 years in digital mixer and 50 years in loudspeaker technologies, the Yamaha Professional Audio AES exhibit will feature the company’s complete line of professional audio products including system solutions for the installed sound, touring, broadcast, commercial recording, and post production markets. New for AES: Yamaha MMP1 Signal Processor | Studio Monitor Management System with advanced audio routing capability and features that are ideally suited to configure and manage monitor environments from Stereo to Immersive audio studio configurations.
Making their AES Debut: Yamaha RIVAGE PM10 V1.5 featuring the compact CS-R10-S control surface, Yamaha TF V3.5, NEXO GEO M10 line array speakers, and Steinberg Nuendo 8 software.
The new CS-R10-S compact control surface is approximately two-thirds the size of the existing CS-R10, and offers the same outstanding operability for applications where space is limited. A Dual Console function will allow two CS-R10 and/or CS-R10-S control surfaces to be connected to a single DSP-R10 engine so that separate CS-R10-S control surfaces can be used at both front of house and monitor mix positions. A CS-R10-S can also be used as a sidecar for a CS-R10.
Firmware update for the Yamaha TF V3.5 Digital Audio Console will significantly expand the utility of the Yamaha TF Series with the addition of the acclaimed Dugan Speech System™ automixing capability. Developed in cooperation with Dan Dugan Sound Design Inc., the update includes the original, innovative automatic microphone-mixing algorithm that helps professional audio engineers cue multiple live mics in situations with unpredictable dialogue. This capability is also included in the Yamaha QL Series, and more recently, the CL Series consoles.
The NEXO GEO M10 line array system is a powerful package and cabinet design draws on structural and acoustic innovations first released in the groundbreaking NEXO STM Series modular line array, particularly the STM M28. All GEO M10 cabinets use an ingenious, TÜV-compliant, AutoRig™ integral rigging system with no external or loose parts. The rigging can be held in the ‘open’ position, locking closed when the next box is connected, making it easy for one pair of hands to configure systems straight out of the flight cases. A total of 9 rigging angles are available which can be set quickly and easily from the rear of the cabinet using a single, integrated ball lock and cable tie, and a guide to hole alignment. 80°/120° horizontal dispersion can be configured manually by removing the magnetic grill and adjusting the company’s innovative flange fixing system.
Steinberg Nuendo 8 features include: Sound Randomizer, Direct Offline Processing, Auto ReNamer, User profile manager, ADR enhancements, MixConsole History, Sampler Track, new zone concept, new video engine, reworked plug-ins and improved performance, and Game Audio Connect 2. Greatly expanding the efficiency of workflow, Nuendo 8 features Direct Offline Processing with its Live!Rendering capability, that enables users to easily apply frequently used techniques in an offline plug-in chain and render the techniques offline in real time. Another highlight is Auto ReNamer that automatically assigns new names to all events.
Additionally at the Yamaha booth: CL/QL V4.1, TF-rack, R Series I/O Rack, SWP1 L2 Switches, NUAGE digital audio workstation.
In the listening demo room: NEXO GEO M10, ID24, STM M28, GEO M6 and Yamaha D Series speakers.
