11/10/2013 — A TURBOSOUND TCX series loudspeaker system has been installed at the Iris Club in Ghantoot, Dubai by audio designer Joe Chidiac of Pulse Middle East, delivering a high quality sound reinforcement system.
Riding on the success of the celebrated Diablo nightclub and recent Café del Mar projects and the company’s excellent reputation in the UAE market, Pulse Middle East was asked to propose a sound system for the venue. Chidiac based his system design around TURBOSOUND’s TCX contracting loudspeakers, which are designed with integral rigging points, rotatable high frequency waveguides, barrier strip connectors and optional colour finishes to provide great performance on a budget.
The passive 15” TCX-15 two-way full range loudspeaker and TCX-15B 15” bandpass subwoofer were chosen as the optimum solution for the venue, striking the right balance between quality and price. Additionally four Milan M15 powered portable loudspeakers can be moved around and deployed wherever needed.
In total the venue was populated with 28 TCX-15s and 16 TCX-15B subwoofers, covering around 600 square metres of floor space to complete an up-front sounding surround system.
The audio system was powered by 10 RACKDP-50 four-channel digital amplifiers with built-in DSP, and the configuration for the venue was loaded initially from the factory presets which were then optimised slightly with some frequency band adjustment. Delay was dialed in to deliver a cohesive and balanced sound throughout the venue.
“The RACKDP-50 was the best choice for us with its ease of configuration, allowing us to tune and complete the project in record time,” says Chidiac. “The owner, Mr. Maher Arabi was really pleased with the result, and this marks another successful project for Pulse Middle East and TURBOSOUND.”
