I have a pair of old DAS R-212 in inventory. The cabinets are good (as in looks decent and solid) but the drivers are shot to pieces. I've been thinking about retrofitting them with new 12" drivers as a project.

They are roughly 106L internally and port frequency is around 58hz.

WinISD gives me 3 options for drivers:
RCF MB12N251 has the flattest response, but I believe this driver is EOL.
Beyma 12G40 looks good.
B&C 12PLB100 looks goods, with a slight bump around port freq.

I can get hold of all these three manufacturers pretty easy and have simulated nearly all their 12" in inventory that's labelled woofer/mid-bass.
Skipped their pure subwoofer drivers.

Any input on 12G40 VS 12PLB100?
Anything else I should look at?

I found some pictures of the speaker in question on the net. MTM configuration, small ports, which rules out the high Xmax drivers, but will help quality of midrange.

Did you substract Volume displaced by drivers, horn and ports already?

You seem to focus on ferrit drivers, why?
12PLB100 to me looks more like a low driver, not midrange, X var ( Klippel ) is considerably smaller than X max ( calculated ).

12ND830 should work in the enclosure you described above

Yes, that's why it says roughly.

It|s accidential, they gave the best transfer function in WinISD. I simulated a lot of Neo drivers as well.

Thanks, I'll do a sim of your suggestion.

So, my drivers finally arrived after 5 months.....

2x 12NDL76 with a Beyma TPL-200/H. Got everything assembled today and did some measurements. Measures pretty good, sounds pretty good. Wish I had a gig in the near future where I could bring it for a little testing. That TPL-driver was a really nice experience, sounded pretty good right out of the box, with a little tweaking it came together.
