Everyone,

We are looking pretty good on our end, but we need to know when you have strange forum behaviors happen.

Please reply to this message with anything weird that you see in the course of browsing SFN. Please include an approximate time of day including reference to GMT. I am tracking the logs overnight, and it will be helpful to tie the times to the errors.

Thanks!

Re: Please Post Strange Forum Behaviors Here

Phil,

When I click on my SFN bookmark, which is set to ... /content/, I now get a vBulletin Invalid Forum specified prompt.

Although I can still access the site, since the upper left bar tabs are there, and when I click Forum, I'm in.

John,

This is a consequence of how we had to change the rewrite rules structure for the site. If the new homepage writes had been set to /content/ it made an infinite redirect loop. Rather than spend any more man hours (already very substantial) chasing our tails on that, we decided to rename the main page the "hub."

If you change your bookmark to Sound Forums Network - The Front Page you will be fine.

Re: Please Post Strange Forum Behaviors Here

same here. my bookmarked adress http://soundforums.net/content/ doesn't work anymore.

also, the forum didn't let me reply to this post at my first attempt, just 5 minutes ago.

hope this helps, thanks for your efforts!

If you use tapatalk you'll need to delete the favorite and add it again.

Aaron,

This might explain the problem! Thank you for posting this, its proven tricky so far.

Can you post a brief description on how to do this in tapatalk, and I'll sticky it? (I'm not a tapatalk user).

From the tapatalk main menu go to your Favorites. Click the minus button next to Sound Forums to remove it. Go back to the main menu and Search for Sound Forums. It should be the only result. Click to open. Tapatalk will ask you to verify the new url and the forum will open. You'll need to login again and the Sound Forum will now be added to your favorites.

Thanks, there are still a few of the older URLs that aren't directing to the new ones properly. We should have those rewrites figured out in the next day or two, but keep reporting links that don't work!

The /content redirect is fixed, along with a whole set of old CMS URLs. This has been in a large part due to great support from vbSEO.

Re: Please Post Strange Forum Behaviors Here

Silas,

Were you trying to load an attachment? Or is that a link to a specific post in the Behringer thread? Can you also provide the actual original link you clicked that redirected you to the one in the screenshot?

Thanks

Dk

I was just going to the newest unread post in the thread. I got the pictured error. A refresh solved the problem. The link is the one in the picture.

I clicked on this thread:
http://soundforums.net/junior-varsity/1306-disparity-specification-prx618s-xlf-vs-vrx918sp.html

When I clicked on it this morning, it redirected me to some site about hiking in Asheville?? Weird.

It used to happen more frequently, now not so much.

Just giving you guys a heads up.

Pat

I'm not sure that anything on our end could be causing that. I'd check that your machine doesn't have the flu.

Has anyone else seen redirects going outside for SFN?

Pat,

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this redirect behavior is a pretty classic indication you have a virus.
