I can't reproduce the issue in Safari 5.1.2 on OS X 10.7.2.
How are you viewing the forums? I'm currently in Linear mode.

I am also in Linear mode. I am using OSX 10.6.8, but it worked fine until your upgrade. Now it doesn't work at all. I click on the button for the first unread post and I get the first post in the thread, no matter how many pages of posts there are.

Mac,
I made a support ticket with vBulletin about the issue. I'm not sure what could be causing this, it doesn't seem like a vbSEO issue.
Is anyone else having similar problems?

Is no one else having this problem? I still have it. I have reset Safari to remove all website information, cleared the cache, and history, updated MBP firmware, and still no workee. Currently I have to select the last post in the thread and scroll back to see what I have missed. Not the best way to follow a thread.

I don't even see a button labelled "first new post" do you mean "unread" or something like that.. while I don't even see that now, but I may have seen all the unread posts for now.

It is an unlabeled button that appears to the left of the thread title when there are new posts that has a hint of "Go to first new post" when you hold your cursor over it. In my case it takes me to the first post in the thread. It used to work just fine.

Can you post the link it gives you, along with the thread title and what the newest post actually is? I can run it by vbSEO just to be sure it's not something on their end, but I still can't reproduce it.

I don't know what you mean by the link. It just takes me to the top of the thread instead of the first unread post, which might be pages into the thread. This happens in any thread in any of the forums on the board. This function used to work fine, it went away for me about the time you did an upgrade. This is not the New Posts button at the top of the page, which is new posts in all threads, this is the button to the left of the thread title in any thread that has unread posts. It is an unlabeled blue button (in the theme I have).

Nothing changed on our end. vBulletin just closed the ticket on this, they couldn't reproduce it either and marked it as resolved.
I'm not sure where to go from here- router cache?

FWIW the "Go to first unread post" button started working again after your maintenance last night.

Someone else reported this bug to vBulletin in 4.2 (what we just just upgraded to). vBulletin has yet to confirm it, but I'll post an update here as soon as we hear from them.
