DDS Design Direct Sound ?

Re: DDS Design Direct Sound ?

Doesn't seem to be the same DDS. I know when they went out of business we pulled all of our die sets and the rest went up for auction. I am assuming that this company in Texas bought them and is now selling horns under the same name. I would say the quality from the original DDS in Seattle was quite okay. Can't really comment on the new one. Never used any of their off-the-shelf models either. We only had minimal issues with build quality over the years.

My experience with the original DDS out of Seattle was top notch. I have 48 monitor wedges that we designed and built almost 20 years ago that use DDS horns. They are still used daily and constantly get rave reviews. NO issues with product quality at all. I have no idea what the relationship is between the "new" DDS in Texas and the "original" DDS from Seattle.

While my quantities were not as high, I always had great service from Bob Rice and the crew at DDS when they were in Seattle. I have not done business with the new company in Texas-but I've always been bugged by the photo of the young lady playing violin-she's left handed. They obviously flopped the photo, or someone had no clue.

Quality was always top notch too.

Best regards,

John
