Shelf on the side of my mixing desk flight case

I want to make or buy a shelf that will go on the side of my mixing desk flight case for my laptop. I saw a solution some time ago based on a bracket-like thingie that would sit on the side of the flight case, - sliding over the aluminum extrusion. Has anyone heard of this or can you help me...

Lab Gruppen IPD series loadlibrary speaker presets

That is also an option yes but I still would like to have my PA taking care of limiting and in rare cases streching SPL :0)

Lab Gruppen IPD series loadlibrary speaker presets

Thank you Alexander for sharing :). I must admit that I have never heard of anyone using Lab.gruppen presets having problems related to limiters. What I meant was that in the case of d&b that the original amps will give more SPL due to the heavy engineered limiters including e.g. Dynamic eq.

Lab Gruppen IPD series loadlibrary speaker presets

I have had luck asking Powersoft for unlocked presets - but transscribing filter- settings between different dsp models will not necessarily give you a precise copy. I didn’t check to see if the limiter settings from Powersoft was open. I believe d&b uses ‘dynamic’ eq with their limiters and to...

Lab Gruppen IPD series loadlibrary speaker presets

I read somewhere that there is a substantial difference between the original d&b amp presets and Lab Gruppen IDP amp presets for d&b Q series subs. I have heard both and noticed a lot more output on the Q subs on a Lab IDP than on a d&b D12 amp. While making presets for my d&b speakers on a...

DIY MID HIGH designed by Peter Morris

The only reason I sold mine was that they where too big for the type of jobs I do. I am now using d&b Q7. Good for one man setup. The sound from the PM90 is great and lots of SPL.. Cheers, Andy

New DIY Mid High (90deg) - AKA PM90

Been doing some measurements with my new Audiometica Clio Pocket set, and did some intense listen and measuring at different levels in a very big room. I came to the conclusion that I got a better result moving the microphone around to different listening positions in the room to hunt those...

New DIY Mid High (90deg) - AKA PM90

Ok. so tried to put 8.2 Ohm in series with the HF and VHF, but the changes in frequency response was surprisingly small. I am still having issues with a sharp dip at 4.8 kHz, which is something going on with the HF section, and the a strange rise/peak at 14 kHz. Both 'findings' are present even...

New DIY Mid High (90deg) - AKA PM90

I have now measured the component values, and they are same as yours, and according to this: Have measured Ohms values with a multimeter and got 6.8 Ohm on the HF and 8.5 Ohm on the MF. I can't seem to find the RE data on BMS website and I don't know if that is normal for a 16/16 Ohm version...

New DIY Mid High (90deg) - AKA PM90

Appreciate your thoughts and input - thanks a lot. I tried many different approaches of measuring, - not including the free space 4m thing yet though :0) All methods showed the same pattern, except for the off-axis measurements - thus the idea of trying out the power response approach...

New DIY Mid High (90deg) - AKA PM90

Marjan: Thanks. I have tried reversing the polarity on the VHF section only on the coax, and the dip between the HF and VHF got much worse(red) . Further, - the dip in the 650 Hz range is a bit strange also. When I use the same crossover settings on a DBX drive rack PA+ and a 4 channel...

New DIY Mid High (90deg) - AKA PM90

I am still trying to get this D.I.Y. to sound sweet, and starting point being some good measurements, would anyone comment on these? They are BMS 4594HE 16 ohm passive filter and RCF MB12N351 4 ohms on Powersoft K series amps. When comparing to BMS FR graph I wonder if I am doing something...

New DIY Mid High (90deg) - AKA PM90

Max, Mark. Thank you both for your input. I get your point about aiming for a flat FR. It really makes sense, though it is tempting to establish the 'nice to the ear' setting as the baseline. Max: Yes I am using the HF950, but to be honest I don't really trust the readings in the high range...

New DIY Mid High (90deg) - AKA PM90

Mark, Thank you for the measurements and input. During the measurements I found out that the calibration file for my second mic(UMC8000) was not correct. After changing it I found that my measurements started looking a bit more like the ones on the BMS site and yours. (Thanks) My old RTA is...

New DIY Mid High (90deg) - AKA PM90

Hi Peter Morris. First I wan't to thank you for your time, and for sharing your knowledge and experience. I did try the DSP suggested in post 315, - but I was a little reluctant as these are for the 3way all active setup?. Anyway I tried it on a Powersoft dsp amp after converting Bandwith to...

New DIY Mid High (90deg) - AKA PM90

Thanks to all of you helping me so far. I think I have tried almost all possible ways of equalizing this box, but no matter what I do I am really not happy with the result. I could use some advice. The enclosed near field measurement of the HF horn I think leaves me with two approaches of...
