No need to build a full show file to learn if its a firmware change issue. Build a file with a few instances of the problem you're having and see if its different when built with the older editor.

Have you tried building a file with a copy of the editor that matches the firmware level of the console to see if the problem goes away?

As suggested there are options for doing this yourself if you feel adventurous although the 'plug-ins' for forensic audio are not free or even cheap but you may have better luck calling some recording studios nearby and seeing what options they offer.
