Sadly, yes. It said continue reading, but I couldn’t work out firstly where that text came from? It made little sense, so I did assume that. It was some kind of AI that had gone wrong?Like “is there a hole in the wood loudspeaker?” im sorry I got it wrong. What did you mean?

    Affordable RF scanners

The snag you have is that you can now see what is in the spectrum, you have to learn to interpret what you see, and the first thing is you have already broken one of the rules. Interference. So many different types and they sound different, so the first step is identifying the kind of problem.so...

Whats the best Com system to have for rental inventory

Indeed, but not quite sure about typical comms systems needing it. The low power means small areas, so it’s never RF that would need sending long distances? You’d slap an RF unit in each area it’s needed and run a network or audio cable. Handy for microwave connections up towers though.

Whats the best Com system to have for rental inventory

Well, RF over fibre is a bit mangled, as of course we can send audio and video on fibre but not rf, that is electromagnetic in nature so carrier free, but it doesn’t go down fibre. the problem with comms is the use people have in mind. Remember that for many people, comms is something they use...

    Compression and dynamics and why

It’s because some sources simply don’t retain their ability to cut through in a mix, live and studio. Bass is a good example. A repeated rhythm maybe 8 in a bar with a bit of emphasis on beat one. This sits very well in the mix, but then the player plays a twiddly bit with the sides of his...

Roland FP-10 digital piano as MIDI controller settings

The Roland’s and Yamahas all do this. They tailor the velocity curve to their sound generation system. Don’t forge5 in cubase the midi modifier section, velocity compression can help a great deal, but it’s still very easy to generate levels over 100 but have difficulty under 40 or so. Playing...

    1980's local band PA's

I’m involved with a heritage project here in the UK and we had vintage audio and lighting products at a recent trade show (PLASA) we assume the big name bands had great gear back then but they didn’t. You put vocals, and acoustic guitars through the PA. You only added already loud sources once...

    IEMs, Singers and Occlusion

My move to IEMs was interesting. I soon realised that there was simply no need to have them very loud because I had proper moulds so my experience was that it was much nicer and quality was always compromised for volume. At the time I started using them, I'd got a big wedge, and my bass went...

Well - Led Zeppelin were happy with this for quite a while. So you could use almost any PA if you want authenticity and less than wonderful.

    Evaluating Frequency Response of Speakers

They quite a range, and a plus or minus figure, and then use this bit. It means some still have appreciable output lower than their figure, but perhaps a tiny bit less than the 3dB figure. The plotted graph is what you use to see what you will hear. Personally, I like a bottom end that gently...

Worthwhile first speaker repair project? (Sony SS-4200)

In the 70s, when hifi was kicking off, most of the Japanese speakers were simply what looked good with the much better electronics they made. Working with hifi at the time, the first upgrade people were advised to do that made a real impact, was new speakers. Almost anything was better. Speakers...

    M air 192/4 audio interface

First thing is forget your phone. Your laptop is what does the work. youd better tell us the whole story. You want to record your voice? Using your laptop? You have some software on the laptop to do this? You have a mic and cable for the interface. You sound a total newbie, which is fine, but...

    M air 192/4 audio interface

What doesn’t it do? The desktop defaults should work without fiddling till you get used to it? It’s really a very simple interface. Stuff a mic in, turn the gain up till things flash a bit, then in your DAW, set the routing. The drivers you installed just allow the DAW to find it. It should...

    X32,P16

Have you changed how the DCA fader is functioning. I’d load an old backup and test if that works, then compare the differences. Can you tell us some info? Screen shots of the routing. We’re guessing things you’ve perhaps already checked. Does the keyboard go to the PA, is it routed properly in...

Keep them to make interference chokes! Pretty decent at stopping RF currents passsing down cables with a few turns and tape.
