You have unrealistic expectations if you really expect LF down to 35Hz in a domestically acceptable package at an "affordable" price.
Since Harbeth SHL5s will be out of your price range, maybe try to find some old used Spendor BC-1s or SP-1s on eBait. The Rogers Studio 1 speakers that Dave Rat uses in his yootoob demos would be another similar product, but are practically non-existent on this side of the pond.
Maybe try the new KEF R300, it's getting good early reports.
