Crossfades and different fade points in Luminair

Greetings,

I'm getting familiar with Luminair, and the manual is rather lacking. How does one get it to do crossfades, or to have a collection of fixtures fade at different rates, but tied together as they are one fired cue.

I assume it is somehow activated from Merge Cues, but the manual (pp. 26) is cryptic on how this plays out.

Thanks!

Phil,

If I recall correctly, there is only 1 crossfade time (under settings or something like that) if you are stepping through Cues at the bottom of the screen, but if you use a Cue Stack you can do different times. I am pretty sure that you can't have different fixtures with different cue times. Which got interesting with moving lights IIRC. You can't call Synthe FX, but they respond to email quickly. I wish you could take fixtures out of a cue, chases, and a few other things....

Kent,

This answers my question, unfortunately. I'm not doing movers, but the crossfade naively dimming all the fixtures at the same rate, independent of where the fixture is on its dimming curve, is really frustrating for consistent changes in lighting looks between cues. Either let me have different cue times intra-cue, or pick your pull-down points (or rates) more intelligently. I'll contact the authors and see if they are aware of this concern.

Thanks for the help!

Phil, Did you get any positive response on this ? I'm pretty interested in Luminair but the deeper I dig the more limitations appear...
