D&B V series vs. Meyer Mica

Re: D&B V series vs. Meyer Mica

I've only ever heard one Mica rig in my life and I never want to hear it again. I've only heard one J series in my life and I would love to hear it again. It could have been who tuned and mixed it, but my Lord, was the Mica rig painful to listen to. Everything above about 800Hz just sounded awfully harsh and distorted.

Then again, what do I know. There are a thousand little ways a rig can go wrong.

Re: D&B V series vs. Meyer Mica

Anyone can drive a Ferrari into a wall.

Both rigs can sound good, and both rigs can sound awful. These are directly related to 2 things: Who set it up/tuned it, and who's driving it. Less so, it's related to the talent (or lack thereof) being reinforced through them.

But back to the OP's question - my personal choice would be MICA. But all things being equal - assuming enough boxes for coverage, proper system deployment and alignment, I could comfortably do a show on either.
