Actually, it would be interesting to know what percentage here are in this biz and how many are dabblers/weekenders. No particular reason other than curiosity.

Don't worry, Matt. I'm not quite there yet, but almost! I promise I am getting fat and bald as fast as I possibly can.
I think we did a poll on maybe PSW on this topic, and it was about 2/3 in favor of the weekend warriors. Easy to do one here... The demographics mostly tell us where users access from, whether they click ads, and take a guess at age range and gender (which I did not consult to make my statement in post #2).

46, white guy, overweight, not balding but I did cut off the goatee that people seemed to associate with sound techs. Too many weekends warrior.

Middleaged male, Ponytail, Hawaiian shirts, Astrovan, I enjoy my scooters, playing bass, and puttering in the garden (don't get to do enough of that), and enjoy the occasional cigar.

51 for me is just around the corner, slightly graying, never had a pony tail but with my naturally curly locks I did the afro thing in the late 70's, go tired of that cut it short in 1981. I've been doing something music, sound and electronics since I was in 6th grade. Quit my long time day job in 2003 and went full time on my own.
If you look you can see some of that afro on my website, at one point it was a lot bigger then what's in those pictures!
