Hi pleasure to meet you all, the reason for this is to ask you about which type of ferrofluid is more accurate and usable for Meyer Sound drivers, in the company where i work we had a couple drivers sent to the Meyer factory to be rebuilt, when we opened them we realized that meyer uses the same diaphragms sold online to rebuild the drivers which i could understand since the milo an 700 hp systems are quite old, and i suppose having that matter outsourced might reduce costs, for obvious reason buying the diaphragms and change it yourself is extremely more affordable than sending all the drivers to the US.

With this matter clarified i would like if it is in your wisdom if you could help me with any kind of ferrofluid (gaussand viscocity) appropriate for each kind of driver which could be.

Milo
ST412N (low mid woofer 12)
MS1010L (very high frecuency)
MS2010L (mid high frecuency)

700 hp
ST418A (18 woofer)

and MS1401M
st212 drivers.

Thank you very much

Hi
You could order APG-S from Ferrotec. I would call them to discuss the correct SKU.

Emphasis above is mine, for clarification. Meyer does not and has never sold recone or rediaphragm kits for these drivers. They also make their own cones and diaphragms for these drivers in-house. If you are buying "Meyer diaphragms" online, they can only be copies of the Meyer parts and are not what Meyer uses. Which means the likelihood of them being to spec and within tolerance is low.

Good luck with this. The only people that might know this information for certain are those that work on the production line for these drivers.

Did you ever get this figured out? Need to replace the fluid in several ST412N woofers. were you able to disassemble the woofers without destroying the cones, spiders etc?

Yeah, was able to release the spider from frame without trouble. Trying to to get the surround interface unglued is proving a bit more difficult.

I'll figure it out eventually. Just need to find the right solvent. If anyone has done it and can offer any ideas that would be great.

Really most interested in finding the type of fluid to replace the old with.
