Help Wanted - sound engineer

Entertainment Sound Production, located in Silver Spring, Md near Washington DC, is looking for an experienced sound engineer. We work on a VERY wide variety of shows -
• from large corporate events to folk music concerts
• from rallies in front of the US Capitol for half a million people to high level government conferences
• from gospel music church revivals in sports arenas to jazz concerts in symphony halls
• from concert performances by leading Broadway singers to musical theatre productions
- and a few other types of shows too. This is NOT a touring rock & roll sound gig.

What we look for in the right person for this job

• An eagerness to work well with everyone in our company without office politics or drama.
• An absolute commitment to doing the best possible job for our customers from the initial design phase, through site meetings, during the show and on until the gear is back in the shop.
• Good people skills to work with and direct other technical vendors, IATSE crew and freelance crews to accomplish the over all job.
• A solid understanding of audio systems and trouble shooting techniques including reading block diagrams and electrical distribution as employed in portable sound systems.
• Technical skill in operating current audio professional audio equipment including Yamaha digital mixing consoles, JBL Vertec line arrays and BSS & Ashly DSP devices.
• Experience in directing the rigging of speakers and taking a direct hand in installing and adjusting flown speaker systems from motors and trussing.
• Experience in reading CAD drawings from staging and design vendors
• Experience driving non-CDL box trucks up to 26 feet and able to obtain a DOT medical card for driving commercial vehicles
