Well, not no compunction, but I have no problem using 4th order filters as a HPF on my lowest bandpass (for what is probably an 8th order acoustic result) where elsewhere I try and stay below that.

Just an anecdote from another LABSub user. I've been running a 25Hz 12dB per octave high pass for well over two years now with no ill effects. The LABSubs are powered by Yorkville AP6040 amplifiers rated for 2000W x 2 @ 4ohm (one LABSub per side).

Granted I mostly use these for a band that plays Classic Rock, Motown, R&B, Blues and older Top 40 stuff. I don't think I'd run them that way for Metal or Hip-Hop. That said, the amps barely flash signal (-40 dBu, 38dB gain) and before they get too loud for my tastes.

I do believe that this is the first operational Labs in Norway, and they are available for rent if you're around in these parts of the world
