OMG, all that stuff is steel-cased with Berdan primers, no wonder it's cheap! You can get 5.56 NATO cheap too if you're willing to put steel/berdan ammo in your AR. Not me.
5.45x39 is cheaper, and more fun to shoot.

I bought 1K rounds of steel cased polymer coated .223 once. Boy did it take a long time to shoot through that crap. If you want to feel like your gun is an unreliable, inaccurate piece of junk... shoot Russian steel cased ammo.

I totally agree.
Unless perhaps your firearm is a Russian (or Bulgarian, Romanian, etc...) Ka-trash-nikov, maybe they're made for each other. Like vodka and borscht. I'll stick with the brass-cased, boxer-primed rounds every time.
