Live Event Manager

TC Furlong Inc. is looking for an experienced Audio Engineer/Senior-Level Project Manager to oversee our Live Event division. This is a full-time, year-round position with benefits.

TC Furlong Inc. is a well-established professional audio company in the northern suburbs of Chicago which specializes in live sound equipment rentals, live events, equipment sales, and services.

The Live Event division specializes in sound reinforcement for broadcast events, special events, the performing arts, live music, and corporate theatre.

This position has broad responsibility for all project, operational, and financial management of the division, including:

detailed loudspeaker and full system designs;
live event project and production management, including quoting, negotiating, subcontracting, event management and logistics, including coordination of subcontracted video, lighting, and staging systems;
high-level client interaction and communications including extensive new business development activities;
managing profitability at the job and departmental levels.

The ideal candidate will:

be a seasoned live audio professional with extensive experience designing, operating, and project managing sound reinforcement systems for complex events in the performing arts, special event, corporate, theatrical, and broadcast environments;
have the interest and ability to take excellent care of existing clients while developing new customers and opportunities;
be experienced subcontracting and managing labor and allied crafts (riggers, video, lighting, staging, electrical, etc.);
be extremely detail oriented, creative, client-focused, and have outstanding communications skills;
be flexible and have the ability to move between current work, upcoming jobs, and business development;
have experience with MAPP, HireTrak, and CAD (or equivalent applications).

The successful candidate will have: an excellent work record demonstrating progressive responsibility and extreme dependability; the ability to work variable hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays; a valid Illinois Driver’s License with a clean driving record; will be a non-smoker, possess the strength, agility, and stamina to work with heavy equipment; and live within 20 miles of our office.
