Help!
Can anyone tell me, in the next hour or so, how to disable the agc on the ikey RM3 mp3 recorder?
Its the same as a Gemini I think.
Thanks,
Mick Berg.

From here: Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: iKey-Audio RM3 Recording Studio Equipment

In the review by D. Hergott "Wild Beard"

"This is the PROCEDURE for toggling AGC OFF or ON. You don't need to have a recording signal source connected to the unit to perform the AGC toggle.

1. Insert a record-able medium that has free space into the RM3 and power it up.
2, Wait until unit has completed it's boot up sequence.
3. Press and Hold the Record key
4. Press and hold the stop key
5. Release the stop key
6. Release the record key
7. The AGC will now toggle to the opposite mode from what it was.

I also found you can perform the AGC toggle while the unit is recording, if you press and release the keys in the sequence I've listed it will continue recording uninterrupted.

Please note AGC if it has been toggled on "by accident or purpose" does not turn off even if you remove power from the unit, it appears to stick in a flash ram setting in the unit.

You will HAVE to perform the above routine to toggle off the AGC. Once AGC is toggled off it will stay off even if you power cycle the unit, which is good. I believe you will NEVER want AGC on because of the lousy sound quality."
