Insert snake ?

Re: Insert snake ?

Yah, that's why they call them "Ningbo Neutrik".

Google is your friend ;)

Neutrik Group - Neutrik (towards the bottom)

I stand corrected.... :-( thanx. It is logical for Nuetrik to make connectors in China... not logical for the factory to be listed ahead of the Neutrik name as if that is a feature, but know knows?

I really have been out of the trenches for a while (decade)... I recall back in the good old days meeting with the guy who ran Neutrik at the Frankfurt trade show. He was a very inventive guy always looking for ways to do connectors better. More flexible and creative than the other old line connector companies.

Re: Insert snake ?

Word on the street is they are so named because they are "economy" versions not the same as their "regular" connectors - but still of good quality.

I don't think even the cheap Neutrik connectors sold in the USA normally have "YONGSHENG" imprinted on the shell.

I just read this:
Yongsheng and Neutrik - Harmony Central

It's pretty confusing, but it seems like the Yongsheng connectors are either grey market (made by a Neutrik subsidiary, but not intended for US import and sale) or counterfeit. Hard to tell which...

Re: Insert snake ?

Manufacturing components in China is always a double edged sword... You enjoy lower costs, but teach them how to compete with you, and culturally they are not shy about copying.

I can imagine a lower feature (less robust) "china" version of Neutrik connectors, offered to satisfy value customers. I do not know if there is relevant IP protecting neutrik, from other similar connectors, while brand and trademark should be defended..

Re: Insert snake ?

Spencer, let me know if you're looking for insert stuff, I have a bunch of em I don't use since going digital, along with klark square one units, ashley eqs, Yamaha outboard etc...tc

PM Sent. I don't have room for the Square One stuff in the rack at this point, but I did give the Rev 500 and the D2 a good home.
