I don't know if this has made it here before.
Pyle Pro pile of something.
I didn't know anyone would make something like this in this day and age. Do you think they actually sell any?

In the 80's that would have been the last speaker that many amateurs would buy before finding a new hobby. Today, not so much.

Re: It must be pro gear, it's even in the name.

Is that some kind of joke?? I don't even know what kind of practical use that would have in a low end sort of world.
No, it's most serious. But not much in the low end, these would be high frequency. :D~:-D~ and the more frequency with which they are deployed the better.

I'm not shure what you are referring to as a joke-the Pyle or the Peavey.

When the Peaveys came out-they were used by all kinds of artists-playing at large events. They added a lot of "sizzle" that was lacking at the time.

When you wire the drivers in a series parallel configuration-you can increase the voltage capacity quite a bit.

BUt I love the current way of call a woofer and 4 piezos a "5 way" system.

They are not fooling anybody as to who their target market is-------------------------------

Hi Ivan, I was just taking these ads at face value. At the link you found, it looks as if the drivers might perhaps couple at around 4kHz. Fantastic....

If the original market was the far east than it may match what the market was looking for. Not the whole world values the subs as much as the US. In the far east, a three way system is just as likely to mean an extra tweeter on top as an extra sub on the bottom.

Re: It must be pro gear, it's even in the name.

And it's important to have the high end go out to 27KHz:

Frequency Response: 4K-27K Hz
And sometimes that is not high enough.

There are a number of high end tweeters that claim to go to 30K and beyond.

The old high end Dalquist DQ10-which had a 10" woofer and a number of mids and tweeters (each covering a different range) had a piezo on the baffle. Of course it was crossoved over at around 16Khz. That would the be HIGHPASS at 16Khz.

It has been almost 2 decades since i have heard one-but remember it being VERY nice sounding. But the piezo was used where it was the best product and where it "shined".

ANd don't forget that Dave Rat used to run his tweeters on an aux. For some of the same reasons (just opposite) of subs on an aux.
