I would like some oppinions on a situation.

I have 6 mac 101s that i would like to run in a chain with a standard 10 guage 20 amp edison cable at 120.

Would it be a huge nono to not run the lights on a 208 distro unit?

Re: mac 101 power questions

According to the spec sheet, the max power consumption is 1.3 amps at 120 volts. 6 of them on a 20A 120v circuit should not be a problem.

Re: mac 101 power questions

Powercon is good for up to 250 volts. You could feed your chain of 6 Mac101 with either 120 or 208 without a problem. And 10 gauge wire is way overkill for that application, 14/3 cord is rated for 18 amps, 12/3 cord is rated for 25 amps.

12/3 at 25amps at 208v.

I'm a big fan of higher voltages due to conductor resistance. Less % voltage drop.

Re: mac 101 power questions

Thanks for the Replies everyone, I had no doubts that this would work. The person who will be doing the sound for me seemed to be worried about the power going into my lighting, But he is used to working with Huge power hungry Fixtures. I knew that I wouldn't have any problems with the 101's due to the low power draw and with my dedicated power feeds.

Just thought I would get an opinion from a couple of you guys on here.

Thanks Again,
