FYI, the problem you are having with the logic board may still be able to be covered under warranty. There is a known issue with the graphics cards.

Nope, ruled out by apple. This is a 2.5ghz machine which did not use that particular radeon card.
Beside, this is a complete failure to boot, then power-off. With the graphics chip problem you just can't see the screen.

O.K, you didn't mention the speed of machine, and that's a pretty common problem. And the bad video card can sometimes cause a complete boot failure. When that happens, you have to talk to the right people at Apple to make an exception for you.
