Midas Mixtender iPad App

Re: Midas Mixtender iPad App

Hi Rob
I work with Mixtender with a Pro2c, but maybe the Mixtender have a big Bug or I made something wrong. The Problem is: I give the iPad with locked on just one Monitormix to the artist, it works fine. But when the iPad closed or go in sleep and then restarted, the Mixtender is locked BUT not on the locked mix before, it is in the Frontmix!! I try everything, but always when the iPad go in sleep and then open, the locked Mix is in the Frontmix and not on the Monitormix that I haved locked. So in this case, the Mixtender App is not for use, that the artist can make his Mix, because it's to dangerous, that he will destroyed my Frontmix. Can you help me? Thanx a lot!

The Mackie DL1608 app doesn't do that - definitely a BIG bug in their app :?~:-?~:???: .

Re: Midas Mixtender iPad App

Thanx Shane, but this Idea I had also. But then we play 10 Minutes and the first musician was “working“ on my frontmix.... because he go to another program and come back to Mixtender. That the Mixtender automatically goes to the frontmix, also when he is locked is definitely a big bug and not Midas-Like. I hope, the Midas-Guys repair this bug immediately. In this case, the Mixtender is junk!

Re: Midas Mixtender iPad App

Sounds like to avoid this issue, musician training is required, or you need to purchase an m32 console. I agree it's very odd that the higher end console has a shitty app and the x32(m32) app is much more feature rich... Sorry to hear you are having issues, but I think you need to tell your band to leave mix tender on and do nothing else....or else.

Re: Midas Mixtender iPad App

Dear Goegs,

We recommend enabling “Ignore Power Save” whenever you are using the Mixtender app. This is found under Settings / Mixtender. Once engaged, the iPad will not lock or go to sleep, preventing a disruption in communication. If you happen to disconnect, close Mixtender (double tap the Home button and force quit), go into Settings and turn off Lock Mix. Then just perform the Lock Mix procedure again.

Re: Midas Mixtender iPad App

Dear Chase

Thank you for your answer! I wrote to the Adress two times under "HEAD OFFICE CONTACT DETAILS" at MIDAS: Home Page but no answer till jet. And also the Importer for Switzerland of Midas-Products become no answer to my question from Midas. So now I thank you for answering, but your answer doesn't help really. Sure, I have done the same that you told me now. But when the iPad lose the connection to the Pro2 or the musicien close the app, the locked Mixtender on a AUX goes directly locked in the FOH-Mix - this doesn't happen! It's definitely a big Bug and I hope, the Midas-Guys repair it soon. When the locked Mixtender nothing do after he lose the contact and then the Soundengineer must configuring for new, this also will help. But now the locked Mixtender goes directely locked in the Frontmix, this is very dangerous and make the Mixtender unusable. Moreover, the artist does't see, that he isn't in his AUX after locked Mixtender and so he dosen't see, that he is in the FOH-Mix after lose contact and reconnecting (I hope you understand my bad english, sorry for that).

Re: Midas Mixtender iPad App

Dear Goegs,

We are currently in the final stages of releasing Mixtender 2.1. It now retains the flip mode when you navigate between areas of the app. It also retains the flip state when the iPad goes in to sleep mode (even for an extended period). However, if you force quit or power down the iPad, the flip mode will reset (this is the intended behavior).

Please note that Mixtender 2 is intended as a FOH or monitor engineer app. For musicians on the stage, there is the Midas PalmMix app - built for iPhone but runs happily on iPad too. This focuses on giving the musician control of contributions to a specific aux bus (including MCAs).

Mixtender 2 does not support "locking" to a mix bus, this was a Mixtender 1-only feature. There is indeed a bug with this when returning from sleep and therefore Mixtender 1 support is now discontinued and the app will be removed when Mixtender v2.1 is released.

Until then, please remain conscious of the “Ignore Power Save” feature, as this will prevent the iPad from falling asleep.

We look forward to hearing from you, our customers, with any feedback to further improve both the Mixtender 2 and PalmMix apps.

Re: Midas Mixtender iPad App

Thanks a lot Chase!! I will try the PalmMix this Weekend and hope, it's great for the Artists. If it's possible to make an Update for Mixtender 2 (or 1) with a really LOCK on the Aux, this will be great!! I hope you say this to the Midas-Guys, with a really Lock-Function the Mixtender will be a really alternative to the expensive AVIOM. Thanks agin!

Re: Midas Mixtender iPad App

I downloaded 2.1.0 (build 2.1.0.17) many months ago. Is this the current version? It seems like you are stating that it was just released, and I do not see a newer version.

My apologies for bringing back an old thread, but I just wanted to mention that we have released version 2.1.1 which addresses this request and adds other helpful features as well!

Added new settings in Mixtender 2 Preferences which let you restrict mix functionality so you can safely hand your iPad to band members without worrying about them altering mixes other than their own.

Options have been added to lock the following:

* lock to a flip bus
* lock the channel detail area
* lock the GEQs
* lock editing of VCA/POP Groups

It's now available for download at the Apple App Store.

Re: Midas Mixtender iPad App

Thanks Chase! It work's fine! If in the next update the “channel-gain“ from the iPad is controlled, Mixtender will be perfect! I love my Pro2c :-)

Re: Midas Mixtender iPad App

YES please Channel gain on the pad would be GREAT ! Chase, the lock outs are nice! thanks for getting that for us. Up and down the spiral staircase is hard on an old man. Not to mention the portable gigs the stair case is always on the wrong side of the stage. The bass is to hot or the keys are to low. Yes im old but ... GAins on the pad would sure save my hips. (grin)
