And.. a larger roadcase, a few more kilos, and a handy spot to put your ipad.
having had a 2 in pieces before, there is a circuit board under the faders (mounted to bottom of case) which has a switch to enable or disable the extra 8 faders. we were sent a replacement circuit board set to 2C mode and couldn't get the faders to work till we switched it back.
As Jason and Peter have pointed out - there is no other difference in processing power, channels, aux, io's etc.

IIRC the cost difference is about 40%, which seems very excessive for 8 faders and a little more sheet metal.

Yes, Pro consoles do have better sound than M32. The Midas rep at the time said most of the "magic" was various details other than the preamp, but the preamp was what helped open wallets.
