Neo friendly mixer?

Re: Neo friendly mixer?

I was involved in the product definition for the first plastic packaged PA from Peavey (Escort). I suspect the electronics have been tweaked since then and it looks like they now make some higher power versions, but the most important thing that I put in the definition was the 10" 2 way speakers that actually make some decent sound. The system came with speaker stands built in and everything you need to do a basic PA. The Peavey operates more like a normal mixer that we are familiar with than the Fender plastic stuff that was a little odd to me.

That was some 15 years ago... but I still expect my unit with pretty much real speakers to win any side by side shoot out over other low end systems for SPL and sound quality. Of course I am a little biased. :-)

Re: Neo friendly mixer?

After being reminded of the Fender packaged system, I looked at the several similar systems offered by Peavey.

Does anyone here have any experience or comments about them?

I am thinking to offer to the client a choice of an all in one or a simple pair of powered speakers with a 6 input mixer.

Hi Rob,

I have some experience with these systems and I will say that it does really depend on what you expect the system to do.

The tiny systems do not have a lot of output and are ideal for very small meeting situations. The Escort is a great sounding all in one product, when used within its capabilities. The Triflex is a great little portable rig but you need to add a mixer to it. If I wanted something small and compact along those lines, I would probably be looking at the PVXp 10, powered 10" loudspeakers, though you may still need to add a small mixer to it, if you need more than 1 input.

Now that Daddy's Junky Music store is no more, who sells Peavey in the Boston area?
