New drivers for double 15 front loaded boxes.

Re: New drivers for double 15 front loaded boxes.

I think Art is suggesting that you rotate things 90', the 22.5" front to back dimension is more important to the performance than the width of the cab.

Spencer,

i that would be my turning point as to where I would just construct a new box but I do see your point. I was planning on putting an 2" extension on the front to take the current depth from 20.5 to 22.5 but if the width is an issue then it's gonna live the rest of its days keeping a couple of lengths of #2 contained. So just so we're clear finished dimensions would be 22.5 x 22.5 x 45

Chris,

That will work, and you still will get a little more out of an 18" than a 15" even in the reduced size.
As far as the exit size, you are reducing the cabinet volume by 16%, so the Keystone exit should be "thinner", but whether reducing it by 16% with whatever driver you use is correct could only be determined by measurement, you can see pictures in the thread of the variety of exits I tried before finding the one "just right".

Chris,
Noted, whatever gets you to the proper cabinet depth to get that expansion rate correct. You should be very happy with the project, my second KS cab is about 3 hours away from being ready for painting.

One Keystone was impressive, I'm looking forward to letting a pair rip.
