Opening up a ZXa5 ?

I need to get into a EV ZXa5 but cannot figure out the fastener type.
I tried a #2 Phillips but it doesn't engage. I can't see down the hole even with light the clearly see the fastener.

Any help?

I don't specifically have the Zxa5s but I have opened up my Zx5s plenty of times... Just a Phillips head is hard to get started..

I pulled the amp module and used a 9 volt battery as well as an ohm meter to check the drivers. HF made noise. LF measured open.

So, put the amp module back and split the case (it was, after all, a #2 Phillips but very hard to align the screwdriver to the screw).

Tested the drivers again. Same results.

Bringing it to Braintree in the morning for recone. I will ask for the old cone to see how it failed. Must have been the feedback when an audience member came up to talk and grabbed the mic, cupping it.

I got the driver out and looked at it. The cone was ripped in a circle about the diameter of the spider and the voice coil was open.

I took it to Pro Sound Services this morning. Sigh...

Yup.

I am guessing the previous owner pushed them pretty hard often.
