Has anybody ever stacked 2 HPR 181i subs? I have 2- 152i's, 2- 181i's and am in the process of purchasing 2- 153i's and 2 more 181i's. From what I've seen, having the 153i on top of one 181i sub isn't quite as high as i would like, so I was wondering about stacking the 181i subs. I know the mouth is at the bottom of the sub though, so would this work if i laid the cabinets on the side and stacked? Just wondering if anyone has done this. I can always build a platform and keep the subs side by side on the ground, just wondering if this way would work too.

Several times. Never had any issues with that, but I've not played around with different orientations either, I just put one on top of the other and secure them with a strap.

No doubt on the straps. My main concern was the height of the stack with 153's. Its already going to be 92.1" to the top if I lay the subs on their sides. It'll be 102.3" to top with both subs stacked upright.
Also I know the port is at the bottom of these boxes. Will not having them together matter?

Done it often as well, one on top of the other, upright where the feet of the top one fit into the wells on the bottom one for a little lateral stability.

KW's maybe? I don't recall ever seeing indents on any HPR181

So long as the ports are within 1/4 wavelength, it does not matter... realistically about 2 feet.

Should be right at 2 feet, maybe slightly farther. Boxes are 28.6" tall. Ports are 2-3" tall and cover the width of the box. So I'm figuring 25-26" apart.

I've done the HPR181i stacked on top of each other with a HPR122i on top. It worked well. Definitely strap it all together though.
