Sub problems- do I not have the right setting on my Behringer S16?

Hello,

I am currently in a strait as to what to do about not getting sound out of my powered subs. I have an Allen and Heath Board, four Behringer S16s (two console side and two stage side), two ADA8000s (stage side), one crossover (stage side), and two powered subs that I cannot get to give me any sound.

I have the powered subs (stage side) running into the crossover, which then goes into the OUT of the S16 stage side, and from there it goes through the S16 console side IN, and then into an Auxiliary channel on the board. Am I missing something? Appreciate suggestions.:)~:-)~

Hello,

I have the powered subs (stage side) running into the crossover, which then goes into the OUT of the S16 stage side, and from there it goes through the S16 console side IN, and then into an Auxiliary channel on the board. Am I missing something? Appreciate suggestions.:)~:-)~

For a start, you're thinking about the signal flow backwards. Sorting that out in your head will make troubleshooting easier. You say the subs are ultimately connected to an "auxiliary channel", is this an "aux in" or an "aux out"?. Assuming it's an aux out do you have it's master turned up, do you have send levels to it turned up in channels you want to send to the sub?

Does it work if you bypass the S16s and plug the console directly into the subs?

Hello,
I am currently in a strait as to what to do about not getting sound out of my powered subs.

Why do you have ADA8000 stageside? How many channels are you sending to stage? What is your setup of the two S16, do you run one cat cable for each pair of S16s (I consider one stageside and one console side as a pair in this instance).

Have you got the right modes on the S16s?
Have you set gain on the input you are plugging the signal into (console side)?

do I not have the right setting on my Behringer S16?

How exactly are you expecting an answer to that question when you don't tell us anything about you settings? :uhoh:

Am I missing something?

Probably, but it is very hard to say when you are not telling us anything.

Appreciate suggestions.:)~:-)~

We will give you some, but blindly suggesting what might be wrong with little information isn't very productive, so please narrow it down for us.

You are saying you have the crossover stageside, are the mains connected to this crossover as well? Is there sound coming out of the mains?

The first step is probably to try to narrow down where in the signal path the signal stops. Do you have audio out of the related Aux out on the console? Do you have signal out of the associated S16 or ADA8000 output on stage? Do you have signal out of the associated crossover output? Until you know where the issue is occurring it is a bit difficult to try to troubleshoot it.

It would also help to know the subwoofers and crossover involved as well as any relevant settings.
