Tannoy Professional line?

Re: Tannoy Professional line?

I remember seeing some in Norway about 25 years ago at a club we played at. They were good and we didn't have to bring our little stuff out of the cars so we were happy. Anyone remember the fancy stereo types with the crazy infinite baffle and coax 15 from about 40 years ago? They really sounded great.

I can't speak for the subs, we typically use Danley.

The VX overall sound great, but they aren't real loud. We use them most when there isn't budget for Fulcrum.

I don't have experience with the subs but the VX tops I've heard sound very nice, are solidly built and nicely finished. I've got VX12 and VX12HP models here for demos. The HP (and the Q according to spec) have more robust drivers and greater output. They definitely have greater midrange presence compared to the VX. Tannoy seems pretty conservative in the specifications, I'm sure if these were being marketed by some other companies they would be louder. :)
