Re: This years halftime "show" FLAME SUIT ON OK let's say it is all about "the show". Then why even have somebody there who is not going to perform? Why not just play music and show the video and lights?-like the Pink floyd lazer show? If we are going to not care if it is live or not-then why have a mic on the "singer"? By putting a mic on them it says to me "I am trying to fool you and I hope you "believe" what you are seeing is real". I am sure most of the audience (in person and on TV believe what they saw was an actual "performance"-pity. OK- let's take it to another extreme. You can have the performance WITHOUT the lights. But why don't we just have the lights and video without the MUSIC? How entertaining is that? So let's say you have a live band for the half time "show". ie like in years past where you actually saw people playing (or at least pretending to play). If they did it live-then you have a"show". If they are just going to lip sync-then why not just play music thorough the PA and it becomes "background music". I wonder how many people would complain if they just played tracks (with no body on stage) at the same level the "show" was at? I bet a bunch. But let somebody hold a mic in front of their face and now the level is fine? I'm confused. Call me old fashioned-but I prefer LIVE music to lip synced "dancing"-no matter how good the video and lighting is. Rant off.
