tree view

click.. scroll.. read.. .. scroll.. click.. scroll.. read.. scroll click.. scroll.. read.. scroll.. click... scroll.



I gave it a week, and I still I don't get the devotion.

It takes like 20 minutes to skim a thread, and if you don't click every single message, it doesn't mark read.



Maybe if there were a ''next message'' button, or if when you clicked it jumped back to the top of the screen. But holy crap, I spend more time scrolling up and down a long thread than I do reading it.

There is a ''next'' button... it's the little ''down arrow'' near the date/time stamp in the upper right corner of each message.

I just don't get it either. I've tried tree view and it doesn't make sense to me. With flat its all just a quick scroll away. Hint: Get a mouse with a back button(where your thumb is) and a non detented scroll wheel. The Microsoft Blu-Track mice are nice, even tracks on my glass desk. You can also adjust scroll settings.

One of my favorite features in vB is the ''Hybrid'' mode. In that you have flat view, with the ''tree'' at the top of the page.

I don't get it either, makes skimming impossible. I've never had any trouble figuring out who was replying to what. If it makes those crazy people happy, though, we've got it covered.

I agree. Although I never use it. Flat is much quicker and really, with proper forum etiquette (quoting) you should never need tree (or threaded) views.

Yep. Is there any way of extending the "current depth" so that all the replies show up on initial page load?
