Re: Upgrading phone soon. Which direction to go?

The original droid 1 is my current device.

I just upgraded from the D1 and got the Razr and so far I love it. My dad and stepmom both have the iPhone 4s and I do not like it. The only thing about the Razr is the size, its fairly wide and long compared to the D1 but soooooo much thinner and lighter. Stays in my front pocket no problem though, and I do have the heavy duty Otterbox case on it which makes it a good bit bigger than normal. You will be amazed at how much faster this phone powers on/off and runs apps compared to the D1. And your survey kinda gives a false impression, you should tally the Razr and Razr MAXX numbers together since they are the same phone, the MAXX just has a larger battery. I haven't had any battery issues with my Razr. Lasts about 18+ hours on full charge. (well that's when i go to bed and plug it in again...) I think it has fully died on me once.

On a side note... I'm not sure if the iphone 4s is 4G, but in regards to 4G and not realy an argument for either phone... I wasn't aware that 4G would allow you to talk on the phone and use data at the same time... something we've never been used to over here with Verizon.

Which App do you use?

I haven't tried the video on my phone at high SPL yet but when you are in the video camera mode on the Razr, there are 5 audio scenes you can pick from: Stereo, Wind Reduction, Concert, Balanced, and Front Facing. No clue what the phone actually does different for these settings, but I thought it was a pretty cool option when i saw it. Not to mention the video is in HD. 8)

You sadden me.

Haha. I guess to each his own, Silas. But, with the latest boom in Smartphones in the past couple of years, I don't hardly know anyone who doesn't have one. And of those people, I know several that have swapped from iPhone to Android and vice versa and the consensus to me has been this:

Of those that switch from iPhone to Android: most are more happy with Android; some say it's about the same; few say they liked the iPhone better.
Of those that switch from Android to iPhone: most wish they had not switched; some say it's about the same; few say they are glad they switched.

Take it FWIW.

Oh, and to be clear... I've never owned a Samsung phone, but I've heard good things about them... I have always had Motorola Droids and love them. I get better reception than most people I know that don't. I know plenty of people with Android phones by another manufacturer and they seem decent to me, but not like the offerings of Motorola. My wife and several others I know have the Casio Commando, and it's decent. Plus the shock-proof/water-proof thing is nice too.

There are two types of people:
1) Those who own iPhones.
2) Those who own something else because it's not an iPhone.
3) People who I am not trying to troll.

You could almost say the same thing about line arrays.

Im currently using a 4s. Last phones were Droids. I wanted to replace my droid with the lastest and greatest. bought a Bionic. Ended up taking it back, piece of crap! Ive had the 4s now for about 8 months and really glad I did. Pretty much for the same reasons Evan listed.
