For all those who have adapted easy texting and dropped all their capitol letters, I would like to point out that there is a big difference between "helping Uncle Jack off his horse" and "helping uncle jack off his horse".

That is all.

Re: Use of capital letters

i stopped using capital letters in email long before texting was a verb. mostly 'cause i'm lazy.

Now that's it's becoming widely used, I'm having second thoughts....

You are in good company (not business companies). There was a movement in Germany to get rid of capitals (not the cities where politicians are) in the 30ies. Before that, some poets didn't use capitals because of the force (not The Force) they had to use on their typewriters to hold down the shift key that would slowed them down.

I just remember that written (and spoken) word is sometimes inaccurate. Even more so when someone (like me) is not writing in native language. Writing this I see that there are a lot less capitals in written Englisch (or english?).

Indeed. Where is Andy? I always appreciate his passion for the written language as well as being one of the 'anvils of reality.'

Sadly, Andy has (to date) decided to abstain from all the various audio forums (forae?). I got a reply to a PM I sent on the old PSW asking just this question. Let's all hope that after some time passes he'll find a higher level of discourse here and will see fit to rejoin the fold. I hold his contributions and professionalism in the very highest regard and will certainly be the poorer for his opting out of the on-line community.
