Video Projection Question

Is there any way to get some sort of holographic effect, not exactly looking like it's a human, but not so it looks like just projected video on a white surface.

If anyone has anything let me know!

You might try projecting onto fog.

I recall seeing somewhere plastic sheeting like that from a hardware store hung and projected onto. Think it was an art installation or something. Maybe worth a shot. I think it looked cool at the time but it was a while back. Things have come a long way.
