We have a venue around here with rules for attaching to the building or using a lift that change depending on who is on that day and what mood the person in the office is in. We tactfully tell our clients if they want anything that includes a lift or building steel they NEED to get it in writing from the venue it is OK and they are responsible for any additional cost from the venue. We then just plan for ground support since we ALWAYS get a call a week after our planing meeting saying the lift is not an option or it is too expensive.

Like airplane wings, trussing deflects (bends) under load.
Although there are plenty of rigging mistakes evident in the photos in the O.P., the downstage truss deflection and loading look to be within specifications assuming it is F33 Global truss.

The 12 meter (40 foot) truss appears to be deflecting approximately 1/3 the outside diameter, about 3.8 inches, less than the 4.68 deflection allowed for a UDL of 634.93 lb.

At the event I just completed, we had 40' of Applied 12" HD box truss (750lbs UDL @ 40'). Even with the truss empty, I could make it wiggle significantly by pressing with one finger in the middle of the span. Deflection is part of life, and within spec, is no issue.

Just a thought about the deflection of the truss: as an audience member, would you sit under that? If no, isn't it a bad business decision?

while making things safe is the first priority, it is also important to make things LOOK safe, for the benefit of customers and clients..
