Wow bennett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Wow bennett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is great news Bennett. I'll be expecting a complimentary shipment of 8 (+1 spare) 18SW115 drivers to "Super-ize" my Rat Subs. Dave Rat said it's one of the drivers you can use with the old boxes to really make them kick over the EVX drivers I've got now. Now if I can get someone to donate a pair of Lab Gruppen fP6400 power amps and an XTA 424, I'll be all set!

Congrats,
Greg

Re: Wow bennett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome Bennett, it is fantastic to have seen (in not that many years) a great progression of this guy who was humping around a bar rig as Campus PA to the role you are now assuming. It is a great example for others coming up in the industry.

Have a great Christmas,
Jeff

Re: Wow bennett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Bennett,

Sorry about the ADR thing. I have potential customers who don't like the fact that I build my own speaker cabinets for my own use.
So I know how that goes.

See you at NAMM.

Regards, Jack

Re: Wow bennett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As one of two people who can comment on this more than any others....

As Asbury Audio transitioned from 3D Pro (Me, working as an A- B+ touring engineer) to an award winning regional production company (at times 80+people when counting IATSE hands), you were a key piece of the equation.

Through you as the US ADR rep, we were able to offer a level of equipment on par with some of the biggest names in the business, even if there were plenty who had never heard of an esoteric Slovenian company that puts quality audio above all else.

We grew together, from 1500 seat theaters and 4000 seat convention centers to 10,000 seat ballparks and 18,000 seat sheds (not to mention 80,000 seat stadiums, at least on tour with monitor rigs, and production rehearsals and "local shows" with one of the biggest names in the business, who came to know you by first name)

I watched/ listened to you tune a rig with solid response +/- 3db from 40hz to 12khz for nearly 1/2 mile, giving me (and the other FOH techs), the perfect palette to employ our crafts, then laughed as you "fell asleep" on the shop couch that same night when we all "taste tested" some high dollar aged whiskey, even though by that point we had all been up for 40+ hours straight.

I admired and respected your patience in those dark times of growth when accounts receivable outpaced accounts paid well into six figures.

Business aside, thanks for letting an old pro racer hammer the shit out of your S4, nothing better than drifting/ powersliding at 115 mph on a semipublic road in an airport. :)

Thank you, Mr. B, For all that you did, and all that we did together. I will miss having you as our lead systems tech, and wish you well in this and every other endeavor that you pursue in this crazy business.

Re: Wow bennett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, thanks, J. If it wasn't for you and Ales, and the PSW forums, and a few others who gave me great help at the right times, I wouldn't be where i am today. Not very many people get to test out ideas on million dollar concert rigs any time they like, you let me pack a lot of experience into a very short period of time.

Re: Wow bennett!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations Bennett. Good for you!

Hammer

ps...yeah, I was going to say some sardonic comments about you wearing Hawiian shirts, loving audio, fast cars, good booze, good food, gorgeous women, cats, etc... but,... you've out-grown all of that. Well....except for the loving audio, fast cars, good booze, good food, gorgeous women, cats...and probably the Hawiian shirts too... Good Luck, Mr. Prescott!
