DAW playback during production I just finishing building up our third X32 and portable rig for one of our campus churches. As it's a new launch, the band will be small. The worship leader has created bass and other fill instruments using Logic Pro that will ultimately be live. We want to play them back into the board channels originally dedicated for that instrument. For example, if a bass guitar is missing then we want the Bass track from Logic to play into the Bass channel on the board as if it was live. Same for Synth, drums whatever. So here is the approach that I have taken. Looking for feedback if there is a better way. We are using an X32rack on stage in HA remote mode (S16 mode- 2.02FW). We are mapping the X32Rack Card 1-8 inputs to AES50A Channels 33-40. (This gets them up and out of the way of the physical x32rack inputs and also still room to add an addtl S16 if needed). On the X32 we assign AES50A Channels 33-40 to Channels 25-32 (previously unused channels). Say Computer Bass is AES50A Channel 33 = Mixer Channel 25 then I go into the normal Bass Channel (13) and on the config page, choose AES50A 33. (I basically have mirror channels on 25 and 13. I hate wasting the channels (25-32) but because they are only assignable in blocks of 8 and I don't need to rewrite the entire block to CARD inputs I don't see a way around this. Thots?
